Get stuffed in Turkey
While it is undeniably the case that Istanbul has a rich and varied history, with countless bazaars and palaces, don't neglect your need for dinner.
Istanbul features a number of outstanding restaurants, with ingredients that not only blow away taste buds, but also quite frankly put to shame the average Briton's evening meal at home.
Among the many outstanding eateries is Huzur Restaurant, featuring one of the best views of the Old Town and the beautiful Topkapi Palace - a number of traditional Turkish fish dishes are served, including mouth-watering mezes and a number of meat dishes.
Another restaurant in the heart of the city - quite literally - is Asir, a hard-to-find but inexpensive eatery located around half a kilometre underground - the restaurant serves a delicious range of mezes and seafood.
In both cases, expect to pay around £6 per person before drinks.
